Cristina Abaroa, Latin GRAMMY® Winner, 4-Time Latin GRAMMY® nominee, singer-songwriter, and music producer born in Mexico City into a family of artists and prominent executives in the music industry.
Abaroa attended Berklee College of Music in Boston, where she studied arranging and graduated Magna Cum Laude. She moved to Los Angeles in 1991 and founded her music production company Moon Moosic.
She has released 3 albums independently: Studio Sessions (2022), Pintor de Ilusiones (2004), and Cristina (2000).
In Cristina's songs, you can hear different music genres and the influence of Mexican, Latin American, and Spanish rhythms. Her lyrics reflect her unique style of love storytelling.
Cristina won a Latin Grammy® for her production Danilo & Chapis “Vamos Al Zoo” in the Best Children’s Album category.
She was nominated for "Danilo & Chapis Vol. 2,” and “Danilo & Chapis Vol. 1." Her children productions have been created, composed, produced, and performed by her (Chapis) and her brother Alejandro (Danilo). With over two million views, Danilo & Chapis' "Msituni La Jirafa" has become a favorite among the children's audience on YouTube Kids.
She also has been recognized with the 2021 SACM 25-Year Career Award; and the 2018 Berklee Alumni Achievement Award.
Among her songs, "El Baile del Sapito" (with more than 2 billion views on YouTube), and the music of "Cómplices al Rescate," "Alegrijes y Rebujos," "Amigos x Siempre," "Aventuras en el Tiempo," "El Diario de Daniela," "Misión SOS," "Rayito de Luz," "El Club de Gaby," 3 seasons of "Código FAMA" and 5 seasons of Plaza Sésamo, the Mexican version of Sesame Street.
